THE AIM
This project represents an early exploration into the field of branding and identity design, specifically examining how these disciplines intersect with the fashion industry and personal aesthetic sensibilities. The aim was to construct a brand world that balances femininity with a darker, more rebellious edge, capturing a nuanced blend of softness, defiance, and attitude.

Beyond developing a visual identity, the project served as an experimental space to investigate individual style preferences, test unconventional design decisions, and better understand how brand narratives can be shaped through mood, tone, and cultural references. Through this process, the identity became a reflection of both conceptual exploration and personal creative expression.
THE EXECUTION
Damsel Disdress is a concept brand that blends high-quality statement pieces with thoughtfully designed wardrobe staples, each defined by a distinctive sense of edge and individuality. Created for a younger generation of women who express themselves through bold, character-driven style choices, the brand speaks to those who view fashion as a form of identity and personal agency.
Influenced by the aesthetics of 1980s and 1990s fashion, the brand’s visual language draws from the textures, moods, and cultural references of these eras to evoke a subtle sense of nostalgia. These influences are balanced with modern design elements such as contemporary logo treatments and refined graphic details, resulting in an identity that feels both referential and relevant.
At its core, Damsel Disdress celebrates the dualities that define young womanhood: vulnerability and strength, softness and defiance, nostalgia and modernity. The brand reclaims the phrase “damsel in distress” as a statement of empowerment, honouring young women who stand firmly in their own independence and do not require saving. Through this lens, the brand champions a confident, self-possessed attitude while communicating a clear and compelling visual narrative.
